Okay, so for now, we've got video. We start rehearsals and writing again next month (November) and we'll probably be posting some "webisodes" up while that process is under way. So, until then, here's some videos to get you by, and we'll be posting more eventually having our entire catalog online as far as video goes. Stay tuned.... there's more to come.

Better (live @ Birdy's) *never released on anything*

Alright folks as you can tell it's been a little over three months since anything has been written on this sort of "blog" section. We've been busy! Far busier than any of us had anticipated on, but it's been for the greater good of things. Some may know that we are on the bill for the Indy Metal Fest happening at the Madame Walker Theater in Indianapolis, IN. This, is a true story! As of this moment we aren't real sure which day, or at what time, but it'll either be September 26th or 27th at a time to be determined. There are something like 60 bands to play, and it will definitely be a big to do. I would anticipate us being the softest, most melodic band there. So hop on myspace, the Indy Metal Fest guys are on our friends list, you can find information out there! In leiu of all that we decided to take on a couple shows just to get us in the mindset of playing out, in front of people, at a show. So, we did a going away party for a friend of the band's, which was a blast. It definitely reminded me of where I started at, and what I have moved onto. Then we played with Chemcoma at Crash McClain's in Crawfordsville, IN which was more of a "real" show, and definitely got us oiled up and ready to go! After this Indy Metal Fest, I believe we are slated for a Halloween show here in Lafayette, IN. Then I think in November it's in Pyrmont at the motocross track. After that, we won't be playing out until the material for the album is written and ready to sift through...then we start the recording process! As of right now we've got a solid 35 minute set that we've been rehearsing, so we've got quite a bit more writing to get through, and a bunch of stuff that we've all got stashed to get through!
I haven't done any webisodes in a while, but we'll get back to it once the waters are settled again. I will be posting video from the Crash McClain's show sometime soon. If you can't find it on here, check the myspace page, it'll surely be up there. Thanks for checking in, we appreciate it. Hoping soon to get the board up and going again so we can chat with everyone.
kudos,-d (r.i.p. Evin Jarman 1999-2008, our biggest little fan!)

Definitely been a while since anything has been written, so I thought I would give an update or two. Currently we've got 5 tracks....DONE! We've got another handful or maybe even more that are done, but need tweeks from everyone rather than just the writer. So, things are going rather smoothly, and probably by the end of the year we'll be tracking in our home studio, then out-sourcing the mixing and mastering portion of the recording process. This time around I would really like to video-document the entire process, and release it with the album when it comes out, but we'll see how things go, maybe we can make it like a cd-extra or something opposed to an extra dvd in the package. Really it's ultimately going to come down to funds, and what everyone else thinks of the idea. Speaking of DVD's I still have 15 copies of "The Live Burden" left, which is the DVD I did on my own accord. They're only 10$ and nobody is really profitting from it. It's a 2 disc DVD set of studio footage, documenting the first recording sessions that were scrapped, along with the final recording sessions. It also contains live footage for every song in the catalog. Along with the video, the e.p. is also included with a photo slide-show of random photos that were collected. So, it's definitely worth the 10$ and who knows, it might actually be worth something someday, but most importantly it shows your support for your *favorite* band. So, contact me directly as i'm the one dealing with the DVD sales. Click on the "-d" below to send me an email, use the subject of "I want a DVD bitch!" and i'll get to you as quickly as possible! We also still have a box or two of the e.p. left, so if you've worn out, lost, or didn't get your copy, you can send an email to James with a subject line of "I want a cd bitch!" and he'll respond to you in a timely manner!

Okay, until I can figure out how to stop the endless spamming James and I have gotten from the email form, it will be down! Other than that, good practice, we're still working on one, and it's getting really close to being done, it's just getting through it all the way and getting to know it. So, with that one in the bag that makes 4 tracks so far, and a handful or more that are around, we just haven't gotten to them yet. I would be willing to bet that we'll have 80 minutes of material within the next 3 months, give or take a few weeks. I do know next week we'll be rough tracking what we've gotten so far, so that we've got good mixes to listen to while moving on, and also just to work out kinks we as individuals might want/need to work out as we practice them, and to pick it apart BEFORE it's studio time. Clips of these "rough tracks" will probably be posted. I am really hoping to video tape some of these rough draft sessions as well, so look for that in the near future. Do check out our MySpace page, and drop us a line, let us know that you've visited the site. A message board is coming soon, I would say in the next month. Stay tuned for the news next week!

A new email form has been added to get in touch with the band. It is mostly for booking and other business matters such as booking, but feel free to use it. However, I do stress that sending dumb emails just for the sake of sending dumb emails will not be tolerated. Our email boxes get flooded enough as it is without "stupid people doing stupid things" and if you do it, you will be banned from this site. Can you be banned from a website? As a matter of fact you can! So, for the sake of your troubles and mine, please don't do it.

I just added a new band photo which is available for download. Along with 3 wallpapers which are all the same, just different sizes. If you want one, but are not sure which to get, it's VERY easy! Right-click on any empty space on your desktop, go down to "properties" and click, then go to the "settings" tab and click and you'll see a box that says "screen resolution" whatever those numbers are is what you'll want to download. I haven't covered all the possibilities, but those are the most common sizes. So, just right-click on the thumbnail and select "save target as" and you'll save the wallpaper version of the images!

Another great practice! Another song will soon be in the works, the framework is there, now it's just assembly. Still actively trying out vocalists, and we're hoping one will work out very soon, so we can really complete these tracks we've carefully crafted. Check back soon, we'll have something up! I do plan on putting some photos up of past shows, but only of the present existing members, just so there's something to look at.

Just letting everyone know, that very soon we'll have 5 BRAND NEW tracks, in just a little over a month that we've been working together again. So, we've been going on a very straight-forward track. We will probably start tracking some of the tunes that are done, which may or may not include a fresh recording of "Saint". So, do expect some sound bites, video, and pictures when we start tracking. Hell, might even start videotaping some of our practices, just because we can! The point is, keep checking back here, there's bound to be SOMETHING up in the next 3-4 weeks, maybe sooner!

Just filled out an application for Itunes to get our old cd up for sale, along with live videos of every song we ever played live, which is also available in DVD format which also includes footage from both studios we worked at while completing the E.P. called "Seed". I am not sure how long this takes to get the application approved or declined or whatever, but I will post the news whenever I know what is going on with it. So, if you don't have Itunes, you should get it because we could be on there very soon, even if we're not, it's a really nice tool to keep up on your music awareness!

Introduction:
It's been about two years since the band went on hiatus. Two of the founding members pushed on, looking for a drummer and vocalist, and coming up short about every time. Until, one day former B.U.B. drummer Duane gave Aaron a call, letting him know that he had finally finished the anticipated Born Under Burden DVD. While dropping off the respected DVD's Duane & Aaron chatted for a while about what was going on musically, what they wanted and how they wanted to go about doing it, and realized that the ideas and goals were pretty much the same. After the conversation and speaking on the phone between the three (Aaron, James, & Duane) had decided to give it a chance, and see what happens.
So, here we are today, currently working on material James & Aaron had written together, and material Duane had written by himself. So far we've got 3 tracks together, and a whole bunch more to get through. We will be recording as the songs get tight enough, and we'll post some clips up from time to time, maybe even some photos & video. So, check back for that in the next few months.
As of right now we are still actively looking for a vocalist. If you're interested in trying to fill the position go to: www.myspace.com/bornunderburden and learn the song "Saint" as it is a song we've decided to keep. If you can't understand the lyrics, either make up your own, or feel free to email me and I can get them to you. Keep in mind we do have things we're looking for, such as:
Born Under Burden, much like its music has seen its share of unexpected changes, odd times, and explosiveness. Also like the music the band has pushed on to a steady beat through a two year hiatus which has seen the departure of two of the bands founding members. The vision of the band, and the creative core of the music could be said to be refined in the crucible of time, however remains the same as it was when the band initially formed in February 2004.
Rising from the ashes of two well respected aggressive projects, the initial lineup consisted of Circle of Illusion guitarists Aaron Crick, and Mark Thomas, along with drummer Duane Walters. Salem’s Childe yielded bassist James Gates, and the lineup was rounded off with the vocals of a new arrival on the scene in Andre Young. With this lineup the guys launched an aggressive campaign playing shows in each of Indiana’s major music cities, as well as hitting the regional circuit with some success.
The band built a reputation as a community conscious, yet hard hitting band, putting on benefit concerts for local and national charities, as well as sponsoring a monthly metal night in Kokomo which served for a time to reinvigorate the metal scene in north central Indiana.
The band went on hiatus after their last ‘official’ show in Waukesha WI, but nobody could have predicted that it wouldn’t be until almost 2 years later that Duane and Aaron would reconnect regarding a live show and studio outtake DVD project Duane had independently been working on. Aaron and James screened the DVD once it was finished and the fire was rekindled. Duane, Aaron, and James made the decision to continue in the tradition and mood of the band, but also to challenge and explore new frontiers with the music.
So far the studio work tends towards much of the ‘new’ unreleased material that the band had when it all came to a stop 2 years ago. Tempo and timing shifts abound mercilessly assaulting and challenging even the most discerning listener, though the underlying melodies, creative riffing, and snaky basslines all seem to be just enough to hold it all together. With the wide range of experience in this band, and the combination of musical massacre and stage mastery their fans have come to know and love, the anticipation for the new material, and to hear the new voice of Born Under Burden is nearly palpable.
Stay tuned faithful friends.. the results are soon to come!
